The fascist regime's persecution against evangelical Christians

What had happened during his years ? In general, the fascist repression experienced ups and downs in a surge of violence in alternating periods of relative calm: the alternation was clearly marked by the conjunction of historical events.
Since 1926 reforms be introduced in the local street South of the spies sent by the Ministry of the Interior, and not only doctors, psychiatrists and specialists of all kinds in disguise of supporters attending meetings. Intention of the regime was to document the madness of the Pentecostal manifestations, deemed harmful to society and, therefore, be banned as soon as possible. According to these reports
cults were nothing more than morbid manifestations, reflected in people easily suggestible, because of low cultural level. The table clearly established in the banal and clumsy repetition of content, even adjectives in the reports, although written by different post. The reading of those pages can not help but arouse disbelief, is worth mention some extract made from the many pages: "We gathered three times a week, the so-called" Pentecostieri ... most salient moments in the invocation to declamante bystanders joined with other shouts and gestures, knelt down suddenly, smiting his breast, sobbing, crying with motions that sometimes had the impressive ... all those events should be put in terms of mass suggestion in hysterical epileptic neuropathic subjects ... that show in my opinion is absolutely detrimental affecting mental health dramatically the balance of their faculties. And again: "the new cult ... gives free rein to psychomotor manifestations of an intense mystical exaltation ... can support the development of psychosis have been forced ... repeated the usual scenes of impressive fanaticism ... if there had been a doctor psychiatrist would not have hesitated to take care of many of those present. " The precise descriptions are studded with savage contempt for the faithful, called "fanatics and ignorant ... ungrammatical ... ... incredibly steeped in theories of their condition generally below average. "
Historiography of ours has unfortunately passed over quickly Semitism assumptions and racism in Italy. Years later, under the patronage of the Ministry of Popular Culture, was published in the magazine "The defense of the race," true compendium of racist abstractions of some scholars. These pages outlined the pure Italian race, in fact had already sanctioned the existence of races, characterized by specific facial features, mental, moral and even, according to a school, spiritual.
How then could have tolerated the presence of the "wobble" in the city of Rome, or in the cradle of all fascist symbols? The logical consequence was the infamous round-Drive Buffarini of April 9, 1935 by which he would ban the Pentecostal religion "As a result - we quote verbatim the statement - that it is expressed in religious practices that are contrary to the social and harmful physical and emotional integrity of the breed." The first effect was the promulgation of this termination of appointment granted to the Minister Strappaveccia; in the same month of April the director of the local police station was sealed, and it should be noted, was similarly closed to all Pentecostal Assembly in private. It was the darkest hour. Our brothers were repeatedly reported, most often arrested and taken to the police station, then taken to jail to be booked or condemned to political boundaries. Treated as real criminals, the Pentecostals were marked and identified.
Among the bloodiest cases include that of de Simoni Fidardo brother, slain in the Ardeatine offender because he had hosted a U.S. prisoner. Due mention must be made also of his brother Ivo Nardi, a native of San Gines (MC) and then transferred to Rome, first assigned to the border police and then put literally rotting in a cell, though ill and died five years after age 36. The fury against the Nardi was particularly violent to the work of evangelization that this "fanatical holy man" who practiced tirelessly and made him unpopular with the local clergy. He was denied the crime of insulting the king and emperor. It was not even answered the innocent request to hold correspondence with his brother in law.
Atri Pentecostals were literally targeted and were subjected to repeated harassment. Quirino Pizzini, Pentecostal, and most Italian-American, saw his house in Via Foscolo repeatedly ransacked in the middle of the night from the squad, was beaten when he refused to publicly salute the fascist banner. "Worship your God and him only shalt thou serve" to respond to those who called on it to bend. As a result of repeated beatings our brother had serious health consequences. It should not be withheld even in the case of Ernesto Biagio, who was arrested while presiding over a cult, he served seventy-two days in jail and was later returned to his hometown, Sonnino, chained like a criminal and placed on a cart in order to give public performances.
So from 1936 to 1944 the Pentecostal meetings were held secretly at the house of the faithful who, in order not to be surprised by the machine OVRA followed a proper procedure to avoid being discovered. We reached the house with an attitude entirely discrete set, we approached a couple, with the Bible properly hidden, at a sufficient distance ahead of the other couple. During the meeting, the songs were whispered, as believers in turn remained standing near the door to watch. The police raids came a few Once thwarted thanks to a providential warning, however, most of the time, believers were caught in the act and arrested. The men of the fascist police were unable to find the Pentecostals everywhere, even in rural areas more distant from population centers, especially thanks to the help given to him by hired women and men who pretended interest in the Gospel but in fact they gathered information about meeting places to relate everything to the police station.
The reprisals were even more cruel to coincide with critical phases of the war, such as the Allied landing. It happened that June 6, 1943, in two different houses, police surprised forty believers following a tip-off of an informer, this episode of the lucid testimony of Emma Rome, issued in the "Protestant" in 1983, which tells of the arrest suffered during a meeting in his house in Via Alessandro Cialdi 28. "I heard knocking on the door, and I was threatened that if I did not open, they broke down the door. They told me that what we were doing was prohibited. Shortly after we were arrested and taken to police headquarters. " Twenty-six of these brothers were held in Regina Coeli for twenty-three days, fifteen other ammonites and some of them sentenced to confinement by the police for three or five years, including Louis Arcangeli, Giuseppe Gorietti, Teresa and Peter Remoli Nigido Rastelli. The latter sentence imposed was never taken for granted since July 25, 1943 fell on fascism. Fascist Italy had lost the war even the most innocuous of the enemy: the Pentecostal people. "The joy, the joy was great - he says his brother Salvatore Gemelli in his autobiography - you can not describe ... after nine years of persecution and deprivation, we were finally free to profess our faith, to God be all the Glory."

Periods With A Lot Of Mucus And Painful Cervix

The end of the century American

On November 9th of this year will be celebrated is the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the wall Berlin monument symbol of oppression that the `totalitarian communism practiced in the world.
`The collapse of the Soviet Union that only ten years before he had reached the 'peak of his influence in the world, did not mean" only "the end of the Cold War (defined as the improper, if you think about all the wars fought "proxy" in third world countries), with the risk that one day could spark a nuclear war.
The fall of the Soviet Union, had a much more broad meaning. It was the triumph of democracy over totalitarianism, of the economy to market economy 'on the community, of freedom over fear. This inevitably `provoked great excitement in the United States, sentiment well expressed by Francis Fukuyama's book" The End of History. "
The book claimed that it was always closed for a `period of history, and since then the U.S. would have the possibility to reap the fruits of their victory through the spread of its values around the world.
Since then, for nearly two decades, historians and journalists have discussso and wrote, `of America as sole superpower, the twenty-first century as the American century.
After the speech of Barack Obama, the United Nations, we can safely say that if ever the twenty-first century is was the American century, it is already over.
Obama, presented as fundamental aspects of its political agenda on nuclear and conventional disarmament, peace, climate, the economy and expressly affirmed the 'impotence of the United States to address and solve these problems alone.
a rupture occurs, not only to the previous administration, but also against most of the historical policy pursued by successive U.S. administrations is clear.
Barack Obama, in fact, with absolute rights such as the disarmament and the climate seems to define his agenda on the basis of more "feel" European and world than the American one.
addition, and this is the historic break with the American foreign policy, the president made clear the intention of working with any global or regional power, independently of their type of government.
During its history, at least in principle, the United States has always exalted freedom and democracy. Even during the 70's when on the basis of a sustained anti-realism, military dictatorships, American presidents, from the theoretical point of view of doctrine, never questioned the superiority of democracy over dictatorship and never put on an equal footing democratic and dictatorial regimes.
Yesterday Obama did. The president, in fact, expressed the will to cooperate with any country regardless of whether it is a democracy or a dictatorship, and even presented as a crime `s insistence of the United States in promoting democracy. The implications of this concept are considerable worldwide for both peoples and for the states.
As he wrote in Newsweek two years ago Nathan Sharansky, a brilliant intellectual victim of the communist regime, regardless of some of America `s wrong policies pursued during the years of the Cold War, is always and rightly been perceived as freedom of the country `s opportunities.
It's always been perceived as a country that despite the mistakes, led the free world in the fight against totalitarianism.
To use the biblical expression 'recovery by Reagan, for all those living under dictatorships or totalitarian regimes and `America` s always been the city lit up the hill, the light and hope.
yesterday Obama hinted that we should not expect this more from the United States.
also confirms the position it has taken on the Middle East.
U.S. president spoke of a necessity of negotiations without preconditions. In other words, gave legitimacy to the position of Hamas is not necessary to recognize the `right to existence of the state of Israel to begin negotiations.
He also expressed his sorrow for the condition in which the children live Israeli and Palestinian citing the difficult conditions they live in Sderot and Gaza respectively. `But did not made the slightest allusion to the fact that Israeli children are living in fear, not because of their government but because of the Palestinian terrorist organizations (Hamas and Jihad) which use the strip as a missile launching pad.
At the same time, did not show how the strip is under the complete control of Hamas, which has imposed a state of terror in anyone apaprtenga his faction and uses the funds it receives from Europe and Arab countries for the purchase of weapons and not for medicinal and food .
Obama, when he was elected, he promised a foreign policy that would bring peace and would have attenuated the `anti-Americanism in the world. L `ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT American to achieve this goal has pursued a policy of compromise, dialogue without preconditions, but by the dictatorships like North Korea, Iran, Cuba, Russia, has exclusively obtained the certificates of appreciation and willingness to argue for agreements on secondary issues.
same time, `America has made the somewhat strained relations with the only real allies that had Israel and the countries of the Europe` s East
seems clear, after ten months, the realist policy of Obama, in reality turns out to be illusory and idealistic policy, especially in the belief that dittatutre really want to treat, indicative of little satisfaction.

The Best Tape Haircut

Prejudices Italian, faith and the American consumer

few months in America are few, very few, especially if you love this country.
but are sufficient to dispel some of the `typical clichés italoeuropei, by the way of the United States and its citizens.
The most famous is perhaps the one on `America the home of consumerism, consumption, without limitation, expression of a society of` empty `appear an end in itself but that would be counterbalanced by greater caution and a greater wealth of values the European Union.
Undoubtedly, the U.S. is the country of consumption, comfort, material well-being and in some cases these fields to get to excesses.
I wonder, Because, what is conceptually and practically in the negative `to have a car with all the amenities, or the house superaccessoriata that allows you to do the same things with less effort, more accurately and in less time.
I wonder, what's so bad to give the possibility to even more economically vulnerable groups, the possibility of having some benefits and comfort through the purchase of advanced products tcnologicamente priced significantly lower than Italian ones.
I think this criticism of the society U.S. weighing three important factors.
The first is the nature of the Italian bourgeoisie.
A middle class, mostly composed of aristocratic families riciclatesi civilians, and families living on incomes of positions garantitegli by connivance with the state.
The second factor is the influence of Marxist theories dominant in the formation of intellectuals (writers, journalists or others) as well as many of those who 'belong to the Italian bourgeoisie.
The combination of these two factors (the origins of the bourgeoisie and Marxist) leads many opinion makers to demonstrate a particular attitude towards the poor.
The poor people are virtuous victims of society, in need of protection (protection not help) but they remain so long as none of the climbers become, without scruples, without virtue as it exits the "working class", and have even a small part of the same benefits and comforts of the bourgeoisie and the intellectuals.
Last factor is instead consist of the position of the Catholic Church.
The Catholic Church generally, and disregarding actual behavior of many popes and cardinals and bishops in different historical periods, has always supported doctrinally `l` exaltation of the sacrifice of poverty, reaching a position almost pauper. Considering that Italy is of course a Catholic country, or at least of Catholic culture, this conception of religion has obviously had some reflections.
Some might argue that that which is impeached, it is not the production of goods itself and the fact that they are available, as their unbridled consumption.
In fact, Americans consume so much of everything, but we must also ask why.
There is a philosophical reason, and one economic. The philosophical reason is that an American individualistic and generally considers himself to be able to decide how to use his money and determine what can or should not buy that someone else (any human institution or non-government) decides the lui.L for `American also makes life comfortable and convenient lifestyle.
The economic reason is simple: the goods are of high technological level and have relatively low prices, which tend to 1 / 3 of the Italian ones.
L `plausible only objection is that for which the consumer transforms goods into idols, and dries up the human soul.
In reality all the conservative American society denies this tesi.Il having the SUV with automatic transmission, the house with all eletrrodomestici el air-conditioning on 24 hours on 24, certainly does not away from religion and God
certainly do not take them to be less Christians, or make them less confident in their battle against abortion `ol` eutanasia.O yet, certainly does not make them less interested in the fate of their community, or move them away from doing charity and helping others.
not is no accident that American conservatives are believers of the Western world are most proud of their faith
At the same time, however, is the risk to idolize d `c` and `property and real but is ongoing by members America `s other. L `America depopulated by us, the modern and civilized America` s liberals and radicals that Obama is the best. `An America that denies its own origins, the Judeo Christian values, which it considers discriminatory swear on the Bible, America` s of the Godless, America `s obvious that for the salvation of a glacier in the Andes but it is favorable to the` birth abortion part.
L `America fundamentalists politically correct multiculturalists, who see the secular European society as a model.
D `other hand, as said the great Lutheran theologian Karl Barth when the sky is empty of God, the earth is full of idols.
